Time for the Wish List!

(1) HG Well’s The Outline of History; The book that started the drama between two of my favorite Edwardian Authors. MUST HAVE. However, I’d love to have any of the literature of the other Big Four of Edwardian Letters also, that is: Hilaire Belloc, George Bernard Shaw, and G. K. Chesterton.
(2) My favorite artist is Edward Gorey and I love collecting the little hard-cover books of his work. I’d love to add the following to my collection:
Cautionary Tales for Children by Hilaire Belloc & Edward Gorey
The Twelve Terrors of Christmas by John Updike & Edward Gorey
The Doubtful Guest by Edward Gorey
The Curious Sofa: A Pornographic Work by Ogdred Weary by Edward Gorey, Ogdred Weary
The Object-Lesson by Edward Gorey
The Hapless Child by Edward Gorey
The Sopping Thursday by Edward Gorey
(3) I’m a huge music-(auto)biography reader. I’m really hoping to read:
Touching from a Distance: Ian Curtis and Joy Division by Deborah Curtis
and
This Must Be the Place: The Adventures of Talking Heads in the Twentieth Century by David Bowman
(4) I’m a headband junkie. I especially love black ones with little bows on them.
(5) I love creating things. I’m always happy to have more knitting or embroidery supplies. I’m hoping to eventually get a sewing machine too.
(6)Two Times Intro: On the Road with Patti Smith is a beautiful book of amateur photographs taken by Michael Stipe of REM on a mid-90s tour.
(7) I love oversized jumpers of this sort: http://www.weebirdy.com/2009/11/wee-find-lazy-oaf-christmas-jumpers.html. Wee Birdy is a great place to get present inspiration for everyone in the family. Everything on there is definitely my style.
(8) I love quirky jewelry. I love to find cheap necklaces and rings with miniatures and birds and bows.
(9) We could always use another set of sheets. You really can’t have too many. We have a full-sized bed && I’d love another set in any matte blue color.
(10) Eccentric Pillows-I could never have enough. I especially prefer them in blues and browns. Why Louisville (http://shop.whylouisville.com/) currently features one with a screenprint of Lincoln’s Head.
The description reads: He was the sixteenth president of the United States, he saved the Union with nothing but his bare hands and a stovepipe hat, and now he can cozy up on your couch or loveseat amongst your other, less presidential throw pillows. Each Lincoln Head Pillow is handmade by Big Stone Head and contains a little secret lincoln fact among its stuffing, there to be emancipated when your dog gets ahold of him.
(11) && also The Velvet Underground: An Illustrated History of a Walk on the Wild Side by Jim Derogatis; This is a point of contention between Michael and me. He, of course, hates Jim Derogatis who is the possibly the biggest lout who has ever lived. However, you can’t say he is a waste of space, having created this gorgeous book lined in velvet. GET IT?
